Beautiful things

All this pain, I wonder if I’ll ever find my way? I wonder if my life could really change at all? All this earth, could all that is lost ever be found? Could a garden come up from this ground at all?

This song—“Beautiful Things” by Gungor—popped up on Pandora today, and I could imagine Jahar writing words like these if he were to journal. He must wonder if life will ever get any better, if there’s any hope to be found at all.

The answer to all of those questions in the first verse is a resounding YES. Jahar can find his way in the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jahar’s life can change—forever. The lost can be found. New life can sprout forth.

I can imagine him then writing something a little like this:

All around, hope is springing up from this old ground. Out of chaos life is being found in You.

Father, make beautiful things out of Jahar’s life.

You make beautiful things
(You make [him] new)
You make beautiful things out of the dust
(You are making [him] new, making [him] new)
