IMPORTANT NOTE
We strongly condemn and are disgusted by Jahar's actions, and we pray for his victims regularly. Nonetheless, as Christians, we believe that Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for them and that despite Jahar's heinous crimes, the blood of Jesus is more than sufficient to wash him white as snow. Also, this is not a blog either for or against the death penalty for Jahar, as whether he lives or dies, his eternity is what matters most.“Adopt” Jahar For Prayer

Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape
The day after Jahar’s capture, I remember putting my Underoath CD on in my car and immediately forwarding to track 10 — this song. It’s always reminded me of loving a non-Christian, but when listening to this song and thinking … Continue reading

Before the Throne of God Above
I’m not usually one for “old” hymns, but when this song came on my “Jahar” Pandora station I created, I found myself just smiling and nodding at so many of the lyrics. While it’s so easy to nod as if … Continue reading

Made to Love
It’s so easy to think that this song was written for me — a Christian, who loves God, obviously was made to love Him. That’s great to know, but when I heard this song a few weeks ago, I realized … Continue reading
What Love Really Means
I know I’ve been on a song kick since we started this blog, but really, this song is the ultimate song for how I personally feel about Jahar. A fellow friend on this blog, Bri, shared it with me not … Continue reading

I’ve Always Loved You
I know I keep posting songs on here, instead of actual written pieces, but there are just so many songs out there that remind me of Jahar. I can’t help but think about God saying the words to this song … Continue reading
Ocean Floor
I used to be annoyed by this song when it first came out. It was overplayed on Christian radio stations and overplays really get under my skin, quickly. But when I first started making a Jahar playlist on Spotify a … Continue reading

The Power of the Cross
By all accounts, Jahar is: in darkness, blind, a sinner, bound, a stranger, empty, condemned, broken, a prodigal, lost, an enemy, and poor. But through the power of the Cross, we can see the chains fall off of Jahar and … Continue reading
God Will Lift Up [Jahar’s] Head
One of my favorite things to do while praying for Jahar is to play some songs that remind me of him and then replace his name where it’s needed. Exhibit A: “God Will Lift Up [Jahar’s] Head” by Jars of … Continue reading
